This design was initially drawn in Indian ink before being transferred to the computer so that it could be laser cut out of 5mm mild steel. The idea was to hang it outside and let it rust (I like rusty metal) but I had two cut and hung one outside and kept the other indoors to compare them. The one shown here was kept indoors. Both have since been sold but I have recently ordered two more which will be available shortly.

The Lovers was developed from a relief print called Dancing which you can see on my Figurative limited editions page. I wanted to make something bigger than my print work and for the outdoor environment. I like to see sculptural pieces in a garden setting. I was interested in being able to see through the work and around it and to watch the shadows it cast throughout the day.
